Grad season once again! This year has certainly been a trying one, and grads that made it through this finish line, while the world changed in so many unexpected ways, most certainly deserve to celebrate! This is Natalee. She has contacted us once again after now graduating with her Master’s degree, and during a pandemic no less! We’ve got to make this one pop! We headed on down to Miami, Fl to do this celebration right.
The morning of our session dawned looking quite lovely despite an absolute deluge of rain the evening before. We started the day in front of a sculpture of the school’s iconic mascot, Roary the panther. Natalee look absolutely adorable in a green jumpsuit ensemble that really popped in the light. We set up the equipment and started with some simple poses to get Natalee used to the camera. Natalee gave us her trademark bright smile, and we got some great shots to start the day off.
Next up, Natalee’s super proud dad wanted to be certain he got in a few snaps with his daughter. Ausbee and I happily obliged, and snapped some really sweet pictures of the two of them.
We made sure to get Natalee in her robe and hood for a few shots in front of Roary, she worked hard for that outfit!
Then, we really turned up the party and got Natalee popping bottles! We cranked the music and let her have a great time spilling (and maybe drinking 😉) her celebratory champagne. I always love the candid shots of grads having a great time. Ausbee and I always make sure to throw in something out of the ordinary to get the grad enjoying themselves. It’s a celebration!
A short distance away found us some lovely greenery to accentuate Natalee’s outfit, so we grabbed a few shots of Natalee just being herself! She’s such a bubbly and fun spirit, and each shot shone with her bright energy. Natalee took a seat at a nearby spot for a rest, and of course we took that as an opportunity to get some extra nontraditional shots. I took over the camera here, getting some of my trademark low angles.
During the morning, we had encountered all these lovely colonnade structures all throughout the campus, so we decided to wrap this part of the session at one of these gorgeous buildings. Natalee was positively glowing in the brightening sun and the green of her jumpsuit looked really good with the color of the building. For a nice final touch we thought it’d be a fun thing to use a little holli powder in the FIU colors, and Natalee did not disappoint! She certainly made us all laugh with her absolute enthusiasm for the idea, and gave it all the gusto she had!! 😄
A quick outfit change and running in to a bit of bad luck brought us to the nearest bookstore for the final bit of our session. Natalee had wanted to get some shots with her textbooks in the stacks of the campus library, but local quarantine orders rendered the library inaccessible. Luckily, Shebee always has a backup plan! We arrived at the local book purveyor and found a corner to set up and get some great shots in…
Ausbee and I worked together quickly to get some really awesome shots for our grad, always trying to give our clients what they envision. We had a great time shooting with Natalee and want to congratulate her again on her certainly impressive, dare I say formidable, achievement!! 🎉🎉 To help commemorate her big day to be held virtually due to the current pandemic, Natalee also ordered a collage of her images to display for commencement.
