Who doesn’t love an excited expectant mother? We certainly do! This beautiful lady is Ja’nese, and she’s so excited for her coming son she can’t possibly hide it! Ja’nese wanted to do a shoot to celebrate the arrival of her son, while honoring her connection to the bounty of nature during this time. We were super excited to deliver! We grabbed our equipment and headed over to Maclay Gardens for some “Mother Nature” time.

Ja’nese arrived in a beautiful cream colored dress with a coordinated flower crown and a smile radiant enough to light a room. She and her mother were so excited to capture her final days with her coming growing little one inside of her. We started our session near the reflecting pool in the park, loving the greenery all around and how the water contrasted with Ja’nese’s outfit. We set Ja’nese up for some simple shots, allowing her to get used to being in front of the camera. We talked about her excitement to see her baby boy, and all the "nesting” she’d been up to lately.

Ja’nese’s excitement felt almost contagious as she talked about the different things she’s decided to place in the baby’s room, her excitement to dress her son in SO many clothes, and how she was feeling rather well this late in the pregnancy. Ausbee snapped away as Ja’nese spoke, capturing that excitement in each shot!

Next, we put Ja’nese on the opposite end of the reflecting pool, so that we could capture more of the surrounding scenery, with Ja’nese epitomizing the essence of the Great Mother and the bounty of her nature. I grabbed the camera from Ausbee and got some beautiful shots of Ja’nese by the edge of the water. Ja’nese happily posed in the green grass near the water, barefoot and enjoying it’s lush softness. We grabbed a few more shots here while Ausbee scouted out our next location. Then, we grabbed our gear and headed off to more beautiful sights!

A quick pitstop on the lovely cobblestone path meandering through the park produced these lovely shots, Ausbee being quick with the camera and I giving some pretty good direction if I do say so myself! Then we arrived to our final destination.

We wrapped the beautiful session at a small pavilion near the lake. Ja’nese did a quick out fit change to show off her baby bump, and we were all set! This time, we took more candid photos of Ja’nese, just allowing her to have a moment enjoying her motherhood. Ausbee captured some really sweet shots of Ja’nese loving on her son, and we set up for some shots of the wide expanse of nature. We finished up with a few shots near the water and congratulated Ja’nese on her beautiful shots and coming baby. Ausbee and I can’t wait to get those newborn pics!
