Mini Portrait Session
Tallahassee, Fl
“Oh to be young when everything seems so wonderful!”
This is Janaye, and she’s excited to be graduating high school, and turning 18! Janaye contacted us for a mini session to capture some nice shots of her on the day she joins the world of adulthood. We were later surprised to find out that she had been referred by some SheBee family! We were certainly happy that Janaye would trust us with capturing her exciting memories, and as usual we were more than happy to oblige!
Janaye brought along some cute color-coordinated balloons to use during the session, so Ausbee and I started Janaye off with some simple poses utilizing her props. We’d selected a lovely spot in the city-center park where the red brick of the buildings and the gorgeous greenery made for some great opening shots! Janaye had some really cute waist-length braids so I made sure to get her to give ‘em a little shake!
Janaye had also brought along her handsome boyfriend (biased opinion! 😊) to celebrate her day, so we made sure to get him in to a few shots as well! Ausbee and I had a good time teasing the oldest of my younger brothers as he posed with his excited girlfriend. Laron took our jokes quite good-naturedly, while taking a pretty good picture as well!
Next, We kicked Laron back out of frame for some more solo shots for Janaye, getting several different angles of her pretty smile. Janaye was very at ease in front of the camera, and posed without much direction from either one of us. A natural born model!
A short distance away, we found our second setting and got the lights ready for shooting once again! Both Janaye and Laron’s smile was big and bright, and their bold color choices looked great amongst the stone. We let the two of them do their thing while ausbee and I just snapped away. Often, we like to take this approach with couples, favoring the natural candid shots we capture over posed shots. Last up, we love to wrap up sessions with something fun, so we got these crazy kids to try something interesting. It took us a few tries to capture, but we think the end result was GREAT! We had such a good time shooting these guys, and can’t wait to work with them again!
