This is Beau Salts, a published writer seeking to update his photo collection for his “about author” pages. Well you know us, Shebee was on the case with some simple yet expressive shots perfect for a budding writer! We met up with Mr. Salts in beautiful downtown Tallahassee, looking to have more diverse and urban scenery to work with. We arrived just as the warm sun was beginning to dip in the sky so we just pulled out the camera and started snapping, deciding to go with a reflector instead of lighting setup with the golden natural light all around us.
After several shots to get warmed up, we got some candid shots of Beau sitting in one of Tallahassee’s many beautiful parks, this one downtown. Beau’s air of apparent expertise in his field mingled well with his warm and open attitude. So too did the urban landscape, mixed in with the captivating nature of the willow trees, really lend to the idea of the duality of this author’s personality. Beau spoke easily about having authored several books, and his process for then getting those books to publication. It was such an interesting process! Ausbee and I snapped away as we chatted about an author’s profession.
Our mini session moved along quickly, with Beau’s expressive eyes doing most of our heavy lifting. We grabbed several more shots in that downtown atmosphere with some gorgeous greenery really bringing out the colors in both his eyes and clothing choices and just knew we’d gotten that one great shot he needed! And with that, there was no need to keep shooting here, it’s a wrap on downtown!
A quick change of scenery led us to a rooftop bar not far away, to finish the session with some more city shots set against the warm setting sun. This time, the warm sun complimented Beau’s equally warm and inviting smile, and we all had a pleasant conversation overlooking the city while snapping some great shots. We again chose to maximize the natural lighting with a reflector to combat the bright springtime sunlight. We ended our short session here on the balcony, and were quite pleased with the shots we were able to obtain. We’re super excited to show Beau how they turned out!! Catch ya next time ✌🏾✌🏾
